TerraMaster fixes Ubuntu backups and Windows Server recovery
Centralized Backup stores computer and virtual-machine backups on a NAS. Deleting Windows Server and VMware tasks also deletes their backups.
TerraMaster published the Centralized Backup 3.0.315/3.0.322 update notice on October 20, 2026, for x86 devices running TOS 6/7. The fixes address Ubuntu backups and Windows Server recovery, but require new backup tasks.
Changes
- Windows Server: fixed disk display and a bug causing abnormal storage usage when mounting backups in the Restore Portal.
- Ubuntu: fixed a failure to back up virtual-machine system disks using LVM to manage disk space.
Deleting Windows or VMware tasks deletes their backups
The TOS 7 Centralized Backup guide says that deleting a Windows or VMware task also removes its associated backup data. Required file versions therefore need to be saved separately before deleting an old task and creating a new one.
For Windows backups, the Restore Portal lets users select a task, backup version and individual files or folders to download. A new Windows task starts with a full backup.
